What should I do with this wolf head figurine?

In Love Figurines Tagged , , , , 3 Comments

Well, I love nature and I have multitudes of different animal figurines in my room. But there is one in particular that freaks my mom out, a wolf head figurine. She hates it because she believes that it is a sign of the Devil or something and wants to get rid of it, but I want to keep it. What should I do?

First of all, THE WOLF IS NOT A SIGN OF THE DEVIL. I am also a devout Christian, and I LOVE WOLVES! I, too, have tons of animal figurines (especially wolves) and several animal head figurines, including a couple of wolf ones. The idea that wolves are ‘a sign of the devil’ began hundreds of years ago, when people and wolves lived close together. Obviously, it wasn’t uncommon for these animals to steal off livestock and small children. You have to keep in mind that these people were VERY superstitious, and since the wolves were such a dangerous foe, they began to make up stories about them (which include werewolves). It was also believed that vampires and the devil could appear in the form of a wolf, bat, black dog, black cat, and raven. Many of these poor animals were even killed if they were suspected to be something sinister in disguise. Really, they are almost always harmless, and among my favorite animals. Did you know that there has never been one recorded attack in North America from a healthy unprovoked wolf? The so called “wolf attacks” when investigated have always proven to be feral dogs, wolf-hybrids, pet wolves, rabid wolves, and coyotes. Show her this information, and remind her that I am also a Christian. The thought that wolves are a sign of the devil, is just a silly old superstition. Keep your wolf figurine if you can. If your mom wants to debate with me, tell her to email me. Hope she changes her mind, and good luck! ; )

Keep it. If it bothers your mum so much and she wants to chill in your room, either put it away until she’s gone or explain to her that you happen to like your knick-knack and no it’s not Beezlebub.
